Trumpeter Mike Ridley has been a mainstay musician at CWJ, playing in various groupings for quite a few years. A resourceful master of many jazz stylings he manages to soften his voice for the restaurant needs but still remain eloquent and swinging. As with so many other CWJ players, Mike manages to relax from a performance schedule that includes many world-class, prominent bookings. The Mike Ridley Band was featured at the 2005 SuperBowl. And, Mike was called on to fill the shoes of jazz legend trumpeter Donald Byrd at a Tribute to Donald Byrd at the Schomburg Center for Research Library on Feb 27, 2005.
